General Description :

FashionCAD is a computer graphics software for pattern design, automatic pattern grading, pattern detailing and marker layout embodied within a fully featured CAD drafting system.
FashionCAD runs on PC's running MSWindows software. - sorry - there is no MAC version.

FashionCAD can be used for an extensive range of garment needs - Formal, Bridal, Casual, Uniforms, Costumes, Sportswear, Lingerie and Children's wear - any pattern creation in material. For men's clothes, women's, misses, children even dolls, bags, etc - FashionCAD works for all these requirements.

You can scan, photograph with a digital camera or digitise (at any size) old patterns, or create new ones "on-screen". Then interactively modify to match the needs of a particular garment.
FashionCAD comes with sets of over 200 metric or 200 imperial blocks in the different sizes for women, teens and girls for basic tops, skirts, sleeves and pants. Also for men and boys with basic blocks for tops, pants and sleeves. You can also create your own base patterns and blocks.

The FashionCAD grading process takes the "little-black-book mystique" out of the traditional grading rules. You can automatically grade to any personal measurements, as in made-to-measure garments, or by including measurements for a range of sizes you can grade a whole range in one operation - in just a few seconds. All this requires is a few basic measurements for each pattern piece. The end result is more accurate, much quicker and easier to repeat or modify for standard size ranges or for that "less than perfect" figure....

You can output your patterns from FashionCAD to any MSWindows supported printer/plotter and can "tile" the output to your desktop printer in "page sized" pieces which you can stick together. Practically you should consider the widest printer/plotter you can afford. Alternatively you can output in HPGL format for sending to an external printing service.
